Schedule of events, October 29, 2011
Parade – Line up begins at Sabbath Home Baptist Church 8:00 am and must be completed by 9:30 am, the parade begins at 10:00 am and runs from Sabbath Home then up the Holden Beach Causeway. The bridge closes at 9:30 am and will re-open at 10:45 am. Our Grand Marshall is Brunswick County Teacher of the year Melissa Warren of South Brunswick High. This is the one day a year to walk over the bridge.
NC Festival by the Sea Fishing Tournament Category 1 – King Mackerel, Entry Fee $100.00 per boat, Category 2 – Land Surf Fishing, Pier Fishing, ICW, or Bank, entry fee $ 25.00 per person. Registration October 28, 2011 6 – 8 pm, Paradise Cafe 102 Jordan Blvd., a captain’s meeting immediately follows at 8:00 pm. Cash Prizes in each category. All fish weighed will be sold and proceeds will be donated to Holden Beach Renourishment Fund and The American Children’s Home. Weigh in begins at 2:00 pm at Captain Pete’s Seafood.
Kid’s Fishing Tournament – Holden Beach Fishing Pier, registration 8:30 am, tournament begins at 9:00 am and concludes at noon. Entry fee $ 5.00 per child, this includes pier entry, bait and lunch for the children. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. The kid’s tournament will promote catch and release. Bring your fishing gear and come on down! Trophy’s will be awarded for first (3) places.
Sand Sculpting Contest – Beach side, Jordan Blvd. Beach Access, judging at 3:30 pm.
Horse Shoe Tournament – Paradise Cafe 102 Jordan Blvd., registration begins at 10:30 am and shoes in the air 11:00 am. Singles $ 5.00, Doubles $ 10.00. Cash Prizes!
